What Makes a Successful Student?


Is the most intelligent in the class a good student?  It can be considered that because you are intelligent you are a good student, but that is not everything for being it. To consider that you really are a successful student, you have to think in what you are missing to do. Besides, you need to be aware the hard work that this carry and the time that requires. A good student is not necessarily the one who have excellent grades because as we know we all fail in something -we are not perfect, so   successful student is more than that. They can make a lot of mistakes, but they learn from that. Even though, if they get bad grades, they ask for help to improve their work. Also, teachers like to see a hard-working student in their classrooms. The characteristics of a good student can be seen reflected in their responsibility, attitudes, the way they interact in class, the care of their grades, and the time they give to their work.
           
            On the one hand, successful students attend classes regularly. They always are on time. They wake up early in order to take advantage of the time that is why they arrive earlier than others. This, make them being responsible people. Teachers are said that responsible students have more opportunities to believe when an emergency happens, but also the trust that they project to others. For example, if they miss a class, they feel obligated to inform the teacher about the incidence, and their excuses are legitimate and reasonable. Also, they contact the teacher or other student for knowing all missed assignments and comprehend specifically what was covered in class. Good students take responsibility for their actions.

            Another characteristic of a good student is when teachers offer extra credits opportunities and they take advantage of it.  They care about their grades, so they are always focus on what they are doing. A good student cares about their grades, so that they try to enhance them. Besides, they like to do optional assignments in order to have better results in their work. For example, if teachers give an opportunity to increase their grades, they do it; even if they have good grades. Also, good students call their attention challenging works since they feel motivated on doing it.


            In the same way, good students always are attentive in class. They focus on what they are doing. They do not usually talk with others during the class, read a text message or a magazine, or stare out windows or the clock; even if they get a bit bored. Good students are always polite and respectful. They respect their teachers and their classmates. In other words, they are the kind of people that prefer let others to talk and listen instead of interrupt them. Furthermore, they participate and are very active in the class. In fact, they participate even when their trials are difficult, and regularly if they have a doubt, they ask questions that many others in the class have. A successful student is always in an attentive attitude.

             Moreover, another characteristic that makes a good student is the fact that they ask their teachers about their grades. Whenever they receive their homework checked, good students ask for comments about their papers. Besides, he or she ask for upcoming tests, and also ask for advising. For instance, if they consider that they should study in advance. The one who is a successful student look for the teacher for engaging in a meaningful conversation, so the teacher can see that they are active students in the process of learning.
           
Another aspect of good students is that they take the time to produce a final product. They like that their work looks good, neat and tidy. While they do their papers, they find the way in which the paper reflects the care and pride of their work. For instance, a good student prefers the hard work because they want to get good results and feel proud of it. Additionally, they complete their assignments and meet all tasks that teachers requires.    All work and assignments are turned in on time, even though if some of their work are not ingenious. They like the work clean and without any plagiarism.
 
            Finally, there are different aspects that make a good student, not only for intelligence, but also for many other factors that were mentioned before. This is a matter of attitudes of the students that want to highlight from others for their hard work and not for being attractive or popular. Additionally, successful student enhance their work when making their own mistakes and they do not blame other to their failures. Besides that they are determined to be different and they try to do their best. To conclude, these characteristics describe good students to be successful and enterprising that makes them achieve many things.
